Trulieve Holyoke worker death raises questions
Lorna McMurray passed away at age 27, step-dad wonders where was the PPE?
This is Lorna McMurrey, who passed away at the age of 27, after a shift at the Trulieve Holyoke cultivation site.
How dangerous are large indoor cannabis cultivation grows? After a Trulieve worker's death, on our live show/podcast, THE YOUNG JURKS, we hear from the stepdad of Lorna McMurrey, who told us “I have her ashes in a box next to me”. He also noted that she had been asking for his work PPE and that soon after, “She went to work and didn’t come home”.
McMurray died at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Lorna was born in Springfield, graduated from Westfield High School in 2013, and has lived in West Springfield most of her life.
OSHA found 3 serious violations in the related complaint and has fined Trulieve $35,219.
